“The world hates change, yet it is the only thing that has brought progress.”
Charles Kettering
Change should not be confused with progress. Change moves slowly and, in our political world, it seems too easy these days to stop or stall the painful changes we must make. But only through sustained and steady change do we have any hope of making progress. We need a strong and reasonable federal education law to guide us. We need two "new" standards for American education as our cornerstone, quality and equality. It is our moral obligation.
Change the Law to Move Us Forward
In multiple ways, we can’t afford No Child Left Behind. We can’t afford to continue doing things that we know in our hearts are detrimental to our children’s education and therefore their future and ours. We know what we need to do and how we should do it. We need Congress to end the misguided mandates and then target funding to benefit those being educationally under-served.
